Genshin Impact Artifacts
Artifacts in Genshin Impact are important for creating an effective and successful build! Artifacts have different types you can equip, come with several extra stats and can affect your gameplay significantly. Along with Weapons, Artifacts in Genshin Impact are crucial for success in easier or harder content.
Artifacts Types
In total there are five different types of Artifacts:
- Flower of Life
- Plume of Death
- Sands of Eon
- Goblet of Eonothem
- Circlet of Logos
Characters can equip an artifact of every type in the appropriate slot. Artifacts come in different rarity and can be upgraded up to level 20 based on it. They have one main Stat and up to four extra sub-stats, again based on their rarity, which starts at 1-Star and goes up to 5-Star.

Flower and Plume types of artifacts will always have the same main stat but for the other three types it varies.

Obviously the sub-stats of an artifact is what makes it a fit or not for your characters and the Build you are aiming for. A DPS character will favor artifacts with more offensive stats while a healer will prefer healing bonus, defense and extra HP.

Artifacts also come in sets which makes them even more important for your builds. These sets have a 2-piece and a 4-piece bonus, further boosting your capabilities. Since a character can equip up to five artifacts, that means that on every character you can have the 2-piece bonus of two artifact sets or the 4-piece bonus of one set. There are also 1-piece artifact sets that can help you complement your builds but they are not that impressive. Some of these artifact sets are good for Claymore users, other for healers, DPS and other can boost a specific elemental damage. Picking the right set(s) for the right characters can make all the difference.

Ocean-Hued Clam | 5 | Healing Bonus +15% | When the character equipping this artifact set heals a character in the party, a Sea-Dyed Foam will appear for 3 seconds, accumulating the amount of HP recovered from healing (overflow included). At the end of the duration, the Sea-Dyed Foam will explode, dealing DMG to nearby opponents based on 90% of the accumulated healing. (This DMG is calculated similarly to Reactions such as Electro-Charged, and Superconduct, but is not affected by Elemental Mastery, Character Levels, or Reaction DMG Bonuses). Artifacts Enhance
You can enhance your Artifacts and make them stronger! Every 4 levels the artifact will unlock a new sub-stat, until it reaches the maximum number of sub-stats it can have or it will boost one of its existing sub-stats randomly. To enhance an artifact you can sacrifice other artifacts in your inventory that you are not planning to use. These are consumed in the process. Like with Weapons or when leveling up your character, the cost of upgrading an artifact is higher, the higher its level and the better its rarity is.
