Overview
The highly anticipated Inazuma region is finally coming to Genshin Impact with the upcoming 2.0 Update. Inazuma is the third major area of the game that introduces a new ocean archipelago type of region and many new features.
Genshin Impact 2.0 will also bring several new characters, weapons, events and systems to the game. Following Mihoyo’s release plan of new updates every six weeks, Inazuma and 2.0 are expected to release around July 21st, 2021.
Inazuma
Inazuma is the third large scale region of Genshin Impact that becomes available to explore. The only of the seven nations of Teyvat that is located in the ocean. This new region consists of six large and many smaller islands, each with its own unique identity and atmosphere.
While exploring the new area, players can discover a new type of the Statue of the seven. Like Mondstadt Statues have an affinity to Anemo and Liyue Statues an affinity to Geo elements, Inazuma Statues of the seven will have an affinity to the Electro element.
Electro actually is very important in the new zone and affects almost every aspect of the environment. New Statue of the seven also mean a new type of oculus to discover and collect to upgrade them. Similar to Anemo for Mondstadt and Geo for Liyue, Electro Oculi can be found around the map of Inazuma.
New Features
Several new features are coming to Genshin Impact with the 2.0 Update. These include new characters, weapons, enemies, events and systems that will make our lives easier.
Characters
Genshin Impact 2.0 introduces three new characters to the game, Ayaka, Yoimiya and Sayu.
Kamisato Ayaka is a 5-Star, Sword user with Cryo abilities. She will be available in the first wish banner of the new update.
Yoimiya is a 5-Star, Bow user with Pyro abilities, while Sayu is a 4-Star, Claymore user with Anemo abilities. Yoimiya and Sayu will be available in the same wish banner, after Ayaka.
A fourth character in the new version is the traveler itself! Since players can now gain Electro abilities from the new Statue of the Seven, the Electro Traveler is a brand new character in the new update.
Weapons
The new update brings two new 5-Star Weapons, you can get through the Wish System and five 4-Star Weapons players can craft in the new region.
The two new 5-Star Weapons are Thundering Pulse, a Bow and Mistsplitter Reforged, a Sword.
Enemies
A brand new area could only mean brand new and interesting enemies! Several types of new enemies will make their appearance in Inazuma, like the Mirror Maiden and the Ruin Sentinel.
New challenging Bosses also wait for us in the islands of Inazuma. Pyro Hypostasis, Perpetual Mechanical Array and Maguu Kenki can be found in fixed locations around the area.
Artifacts
Two 5-Star Artifact Sets will be available to farm from the new domain in Inazuma, Emblem of Severed fates and Shimenawa’s Reminiscence.
Emblem of Severed fates grants Energy Recharge +20% with its 2-piece bonus and with its 4-piece bonus increases Elemental Burst DMG by 30% of Energy Recharge. A maximum 75% DMG increase can be obtained in this way.
Shimenawa’s Reminiscence grants ATK +18% with its 2-piece bonus and with its 4-piece bonus when casting an Elemental Skill, if the character has 15 or more Energy, they lose 15 Energy and Normal/Charged/ Plunging Attack DMG is increased by 50% for 10s.
Events
Several new Events will be of course available during the new version. These are:
Thunder Sojourn is the main event of the new update, that offers Primogems, Mora, upgrading Materials but also the chance to earn Beidou for free!
Theater Mechanicus, Lost Riches and Ley Line Overflow return to Genshin Impact with the new update and bring great new rewards with them!

New Systems
Genshin Impact 2.0 also introduces a few new systems that will help players to enjoy the game more.
Epitomized Path
Epitomized Path is a new Weapon Wish system that will help players to get the weapons they want! Players can pick a Weapon of their choice with this new system to mark as the one they want to get.
When you receive a 5-Star Weapon in the Weapon Wish, that is not the one you have chosen, you will earn Fate Points. Once you accumulate enough Fate points, the next 5-Star Weapon you will receive, will be the one you have chosen.
Mystic Offering
A new option in the crafting bench, that allows players to sacrifice three 5-Star Artifacts to get an “Artifact Strongbox“, that contains a random Artifact.
There are four types of Artifacts a Strongbox can have and players can choose which type they want when creating the Strongbox.
Gardening
With gardening, it is now possible to grow plants in your Housing Realm! By using the Seed Dispensary, given to you by Madame Ping, you can get seeds. Plant those seeds in the appropriate fields in your realm to grow plants.
After some time you can harvest the plants and use them however you like!
