Genshin Impact 1.6 Features
The 1.6 update brings Summer to Genshin Impact along with several new features. As usual, new characters, weapons and events will make their appearance with the update. This time though players will also have the opportunity to explore a new area full of small islands, an archipelago of fun and adventure!
The first alternative character outfits will become available for purchase with the 1.6 update as well, expanding character customization. Genshin Impact 1.6 will be released on June 9th, one day after Eula‘s banner ends.
This is everything new coming to Genshin Impact with the 1.6 Update.
New Character & Weapons
Kaedehara Kazuha is the new character of Genshin Impact 1.6! An Inazuma fugitive, that wields a sword as his weapon and deals Anemo damage. Kazuha and his Archon quest will basically act as a prologue to the upcoming area of Inazuma.
In 1.6 Klee is also coming back! Klee’s banner will have a rerun and it will actually come first in the new update.
Three new weapons will also be available for players to acquire, a Sword, a Bow and a Catalyst. The Freedom-Sworn 5-Star Sword and the Mitternachts Waltz 4-Star Bow will be available through the wish system.
The 4-Star Catalyst, Dodoco Tales will also be available as an event reward!
New Monster
A terrifying, mechanical samurai, called Maguu Kenki, will be the Monster highlight of the update! A strong new Boss with interesting mechanics. When his HP drops below a certain amount, he enters the Phantom Stage. During this stage his attacks are converted to Anemo damage and it summons Phantoms to attack the player as well.
The Phantoms’ attacks are imbued with Elemental Energy and deal both Anemo and Cryo damage. His cool looking mask can also block ranged attacks, making it more difficult to defeat him.
New Events
New Events and their rewards is what a Genshin Impact Update is all about! And this update has several great new events!
Midsummer Island Adventure
The main event of the update that will let us explore a new area full of mysterious islands. This new area will be full of things to discover, like new materials, new puzzles to solve and new world quests to complete. To help with exploration, players can summon a unique type of boat and sail with it around! You can summon the Waverider Boat at the Waverider Waypoints and you can even invite friends to sail with you in co-op mode!
The Event is split in different stages with different types of challenges to complete. In the first stage players will have to use their boat to destroy enemy buildings in the sea. The second stage will ask you to complete speeding challenges with your boat. The third stage is when you can deal with Maguu Kenki while in the fourth and final stage you will be able to use Harpastum bombs to defeat enemies!
During this event you can earn Primogems, Mora, Upgrading Materials, new Furnishing Blueprints and the new Catalyst, Dodoco Tales.
Echoing Tales
Another new event where you can collect Echoing Conches while listening to hidden stories. During this event you can earn Primogems, Mora, Upgrading Materials but also Barbara’s Alternative Outfit, Summertime Sparkle, by collecting Echoing Conches.
Kaboomball Kombat
A weird, sport like new event where you have to defeat a Dodo Fortress, shooting balls at you, by deflecting them back. You can play this event with another friend if you like, in a 2-person limited co-op mode! Among the usual rewards, a new event namecard will be available from this event.
Never-Ending Battle
A combat based event, where you have to defeat Berserker enemies, destroy momentum discs to earn momentum and get more buffs that will allow you to kill enemies faster.
Legend of the Vagabond Sword
Finally the Legend of the Vagabond Sword is another combat event where the player can choose the difficulty and several additional conditions for extra rewards.
During this domain challenge event you can fight strong Boss like enemies, including the new Maguu Kenki Samurai Boss.

Alternative Character Outfits
The first two of alternative character outfits will make their appearance with Genshin Impact 1.6!! These two outfits will change the appearance of Jean and Barbara to suit more this new Summer adventure!
Jean’s Sea Breeze Dandelion Outfit will be available for purchase in the in-game shop for a time limited discount at 1350 Genesis Crystals. After the discount ends its price will rise to 1680 Genesis Crystals.
Barbara’s Summertime Sparkle Outfit can be obtained for free during the Echoing Tales Event, by collecting Echoing Conches! After the end of the 1.6 Update, it will also be available for purchase in the in-game shop for 1680 Genesis Crystals.
Serenitea Pot Updates
The Serenitea Pot, Housing System is also getting updates in Genshin Impact 1.6! Players will be able to invite up to eight of their characters in their Serenitea Realm, upon finishing the tutorial quest, “A Teapot to call Home, Part II“.
Characters that reside in the realm will have their companionship experience increased and when adeptal energy rank increases, the rate of companionship gained will also increase.
It will be possible to talk and interact with the characters inside the realm. Additionally every character will have its own favorite furnishing set, that when completed and placed in the area, will unlock a special dialogue from each character and have them give you a gift.
System Optimizations
Last but not least the 1.6 Update brings system optimizations as well. The new update will add a serial navigation function for tracking and navigating to enemies from the adventure handbook. Which means that the game will track automatically the next enemy of the same type for you.
New keyboard shortcuts are coming for PC and detailed information will be added to the domain entry screen. These details will tell you what type of enemies awaiting for you in the domain as well as the domain’s content.
Overall the 1.6 Update seems to be full of cool new features and challenges and will pave the wave for a better adventure later in the area of Inazuma!
