Date’s Challenge Quest

Table of Contents

Overview

Date’s Challenge is a World Quest in Enkanomiya, Inazuma. The Quest is also part of the Collection of Dragons and Snakes World Quest Series in the area. To begin the quest you must first locate a Labyrinth on the North East part of Evernight Temple area. Completing the quest also unlocks the “Maybe Get yourself a More Social Hobby” Achievement.

The Labyrinth is visible while in Evernight mode. Before you can accept the quest, you must first advance the main story line of Enkanomiya and reach Dainichi Mikoshi, at the center of the map. To enter Enkanomiya you must first complete the “The Moon-Bathed Deep” Quest in Watatsumi Island and accept the “The Still Water’s Flow” Quest from Tsuyuko.

Reaching Dainichi Mikoshi and unlocking the ability to manually change the day/night cycle is vital for this quest but also many more in the area. Switching to Evernight(Night) will reveal the Shades of Tokoyo, which are basically ghosts that offer you quests.

Labyrinth

To solve the labyrinth puzzle you need first to switch back to Whitenight. Then hit the two triangular mechanisms on the cliff above the labyrinth once. Switch back to Evernight and jump down. Apply Hydro to the four pillars inside the Labyrinth to open the door in the middle.

Jump down, loot the Luxurious Chest to get Date’s Medal of Recognition and talk to him. He will give you Date’s Key and challenge you to solve a second puzzle. This dialogue starts the quest.

Go to the second location in The Serpent’s Heart and use the key to open the door.

2nd Puzzle

The second puzzle is relatively easy as well, when you realize what you have to do. The goal is to align physical and blue light walls.

Switch to Whitenight so you can use the triangular mechanisms. The levers on the two outer pillars block walls from moving. Use the first lever as you enter the room. Now hit the triangular mechanism on the South(as you look on the minimap) twice to move the walls.

Use the first lever again to block the first wall from moving. Use the second lever that is closer to the chest. Hit the other triangular mechanism twice to move the two walls. Use the second lever again to block the other wall.

Now go hit the first triangular mechanism once to move the middle wall in the middle of the room. Switch to Evernight to complete the puzzle. You can now loot the Precious Chest and also unlock the “Maybe Get yourself a More Social Hobby” Achievement. Take the second Date’s Medal of Recognition and return to Date.

You can now open the secret room nearby and loot the Exquisite Chest inside. This completes the quest but also rewards you with the “Hydrological Studies in Byakuyakoku” book.

Finding the book completes the Date’s Challenge Quest but also progresses the Collection of Dragons and Snakes World Quest Series. The Hydrological Studies in Byakuyakoku is one of the five Books you have to find around Enkanomiya, in order to complete it.
