Contending Tides Event

Contending Tides is one of the combat oriented events of the 1.4 version. The goal of the event is to survive waves of enemies and complete challenges to earn Primogems, mora and other rewards.

The Event starts on April 2nd and will run until April 12th. To participate, travelers must be Adventure Rank 20 or above, break the three Seals at the Sword Cemetery and complete the quest “Mountainous Summons”.

Event Details

The event takes place at the Dadaupa Gorge’s Meaty Arena and will introduce a new challenge every day. The challenges will have three difficulty levels and three different completion criteria that will have to be fulfilled to complete it.

Completing a challenge at a higher difficulty will automatically complete all lower difficulty levels. The higher the difficulty, the better the rewards you can earn from a challenge.

Every challenge will also enhance certain abilities that can maximize your advantage! Changing world level will not affect the difficulty of the challenges.

Arena Effects & Completion Criteria

Every day the Arena will offer different effects that can affect combat. Using characters and a group setup that can take advantage of the specific effects will make the fight easier for you.

Day 1

During the first day there will be an Aura within the Arena. Characters within the Aura will obtain the following effects:

  • Atk is increased by 100%
  • When attacks hit opponents, a shockwave is released if your Stamina is above 50%, dealing AOE damage. Shockwaves can only be triggered in this way once every 3s

Extreme Difficulty Completion Criteria:

  • Defeat 20 opponents in 180s
  • Defeat 4 Blazing Axe Mitachurls
  • No character deaths during the challenge

Day 2

  • Electro-Charged deals 150% increased Damage against opponents
  • When a character triggers an Electro-Charged reaction that strikes an opponent, a shockwave is released, dealing AOE Electro Damage. Shockwaves can only be triggered in this way once every 5s.

Extreme Difficulty Completion Criteria:

  • Defeat 30 opponents in 180s
  • Time between kills cannot exceed 20s
  • No character deaths during the challenge

Day 3

When a character performs a Plunging Attack, a shockwave is released that deals damage to all opponents in the arena. After performing a Plunging Attack, the next Plunging Attack by one of your own party members and the shockwave generated by that Plunging Attack will both deal 50% increased Damage. This effect can stack up to 10 times.

Extreme Difficulty Completion Criteria:

  • Defeat 25 opponents in 190s
  • Defeat 3 Blazing Axe Mitachurls
  • No character deaths during the challenge

Day 4

When Normal and Charged Attacks hit a Frozen opponent, there is a 50% chance of releasing a shockwave that deals AOE Damage. These shockwaves can occur once every second.

Extreme Difficulty Completion Criteria:

  • Defeat 5 opponents in 135s
  • Do not leave the arena during the challenge
  • No character deaths during the challenge

Day 5

The following effects will occur according to the current active character’s HP:

  • When HP is less than 70%, Attack is increased by 50%
  • When HP is less than 50%, the character’s normal and charged attack speed is increased by 25%
  • When HP is less than 30%, attacks from the character that hit opponents will unleash shockwaves that deal AOE damage.

The effects can occur simultaneously.

Extreme Difficulty Completion Criteria:

  • Defeat 1 opponent in 110s
  • Do not leave the arena during the challenge
  • No character deaths during the challenge

Day 6

Normal and Charges attack speed is increased by 25%. Charged attack stamina consumption is decreased by 50%. Defeating an opponent with a charged attack increases damage dealt by charged attacks for your own party members by 50%. Stacks up to 8 times.

Once 8 stacks are obtained, shockwaves will be released when a character uses Charged attack damage to defeat opponents. These shockwaves will deal AOE damage.

Extreme Difficulty Completion Criteria:

  • Defeat 30 opponents in 150s
  • No character deaths during the challenge

Day 7

There is an aura in the middle of the arena. If any of your own party members spends over 5s in the aura, the aura will be consumed and all your party members will have their attack increased by 100% for the next 10s. Their normal and charged attacks will release a shockwave on hit that deals AOE damage.

One shockwave may be unleashed in such a way every 15s. A new aura will appear 10s after the previous aura has been consumed and you have gained the effects. A maximum of 3 additional auras will appear during this challenge.

Extreme Difficulty Completion Criteria:

  • Defeat 1 opponent in 90s
  • Do not leave the arena during the challenge
  • No character deaths during the challenge
